* UPDATE FOR OUR MARCH 13th AUCTION*
After
much thoughtful discussion, deliberation and weighing the risks versus
the benefits, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our in-person annual auction
scheduled for March 13.The community's
health and safety is our absolute priority. You, our guests, volunteers, and staff, are
the people who keep our organization running, and we need you, our
community, strong and healthy now more than ever!
As
you know, our annual Spring Auction is our largest fundraiser of the
year, and the loss that we anticipate from this cancellation will make
it harder for us to provide essential services for the vulnerable
populations we serve. We hope you will support our programs by
participating in our online auction where you will be able
to bid on silent and live auction items, make paddle raise donations,
purchase raffle tickets, and sign up for our group events. We will also
be doing a "Telethon" of sorts, and we encourage anyone who would like
to make a donation to call in with a pledge between now and Friday night
to show their support! Please call (503) 228-4391 to contribute! Your donation will be counted towards our auction goal for the evening.
We
are thrilled to announce that our Auction Chairs, Ruth Roth and Regina
Hauser along with her husband Chris Carson, have already pledged their
"paddle raises" of $10,000 and $5,000 respectively. We hope you will
join them in supporting Friendly House!
HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN OUR ONLINE AUCTION - 10AM PDT- 9PM PDT MARCH 13

General:
- Bidding will open online at 10am PDT and end at 9pm PDT
- We will have people available to answer any questions via phone or email from 10am to 9pm. You can call Friendly House at (503) 228-4391 and ask for "online auction help" or email donate@friendlyhouseinc.org
Registering:
- You can (and should) register before the event. You can do that now by accessing this link to the event: https://fhi2020.ggo.bid and click on "Start Bidding"—you will be prompted to register. Even those who have previously purchased tickets online will need to go through the registration process. We are so sorry. We only got access to this online bidding software yesterday!
- After you click on "Start Bidding," you
will be prompted to create an account. After you click "Create an
account" and enter your email address, you will need to confirm your
email address by clicking the link emailed to you. Once you click the
link, you will be taken to the Greater Giving website where you will
enter your contact information and credit card info in order to complete
registration. Click the giant green gavel, and you will be free to
peruse our assortment of auction packages. At 10am on Friday morning,
you may begin placing bids.
- We will also be sending you an automated message via text and email tomorrow at 10am when bidding opens.
- You will have to put in a credit card number to access online bidding. If you do not purchase anything you will NOT be charged. If you would like to bid online, but NOT pay by credit card, you will still need to enter your card number—just send an email to donate@friendlyhouse.com by Monday, March 16th letting us know you prefer to pay by cash or check and we will not charge your card.
- If you register tonight and run into any problems, please email donate@friendlyhouseinc.org and we will get back to you first thing tomorrow morning.
